Go Green Day / OGL interview
Monday, January 28, 2008 7:52 PM
Yesterday, which was Sunday, was TJC's Go Green Day. The whole college set out to the whole of Bedok to collect old newspapers and clothes from households. Junior CGs with Senior CGs. So, we were with 18/07. In my group was Wenhui and I, and two seniors, Randy and Jolyn. Super funny being with them. They were saying the Randy can't really speak Chinese that well despite doing quite well in his O Levels Chinese and HCL. So he's those type who can write well but can't speak well. Jolyn was asking Randy, "How do you say old clothes in Chinese?" Randy: "老衣服...eh no, 旧衣服." Hahaha. What the hell is 老衣服?!?! LOL.

*******
School today was alright, no, I should say fantastic! Haha. Ok la, it's alright, because today was a long day, only ended at 4.40pm. I still had OGL interview after that.

Anyway, PE was okay. Although it's 2.8km(400m more than last week), it seems so much shorter. Maybe it's because I was walking throughout. =p Still dare say. Haha. No, cannot! I cannot continue like this for the rest of the PEs. Shanmin says that sportsplayers(not that I look anything like one) have to train on their own. I decided that I shall heed her advice. ^^

OGL interview was alright. But I'm not really confident of being selected as an OGL. If I'm not selected, then it's okay. I can still be a OGM. Nah, kidding. I would still love to be an OGL. Seriously, the wonderful orientation 1 OGLs and the success of the whole orientation inspired me to sign up to be an OGL. In the past, if you ask me to join such stuffs, I'll just tell you that you're crazy. But now, I'll say the total opposite. I tell you that you're crazy for not joining.

After OGL interview, walked to the main-road bus-stop with Shanmin. Kept talking non-stop. Love talking to that girl(and the girls too). We can just keep gossiping(oops!), talking about everything and laughing like some lunatics who just escaped from the asylum. We share a common dislike for a certain person! Haha.

Alright, can't blog anymore. I have to go do my biology project. Bye! ^^

1 hour and 20 minutes of school
Friday, January 25, 2008 5:38 PM
Went to school for a total of 1 hour and 20 minutes from 7.25am to 8.45am. Just a special Civics where we just wrote our L1R5 on the class list and then stoned for the rest of lesson. I'm going to die of stress in my CG la. I was one of the last people to write my L1R5, and I saw that the class is full of 6-,7-,8-pointers. I'm sure I'm going to be first from the bottom very soon.

After Civics ended, Tracy, Hweeli and I went to find Miss Ng to ask about some relevant stuffs. Then, went to the stage to meet Shanmin, Kristy and Jollene.

Then, went with the girls to TM for lunch and shopping. It's amazing how we can walk the whole of TM and Century Sq despite having gone there for the past 4 years. And we saw Womaniser! Guess who? Haha. It's not our fault that we had to call him that. He was wearing a shirt that screamed 'WOMANISER' in BIG bolded letters on the front. Hahaha.

Shanmin suggested to have a reunion steamboat dinner with the girls on I-forgot-when and to have some programmes on the night of CNY festival. I promised them that I'll keep the night of CNY festival free for them. So that means no CG outing/supper or whatever on that night. Anyway, the CG was indecisive on where and when to have the outing. First-come-first-serve basis, so yep, reunion dinner with the girls!!!

My phone is being totally pathetic. It switches off by itself whenever I'm typing a message or trying to call someone. So now, I can't call or message anymore. Wow, what a good phone it is. Not that I have any, but it curbs any excessive calling or messaging. -.- Lesson learnt: Never get an LG chocolate no matter how delicious it may look. The touch-keys goes crazy and start moving the cursor on its own after a few months of using it. The battery depletes faster than you can even finish typing a message. Friends who had used my phone complain that the zero key isn't working. Nah, it's working. Well, it works if you apply a force of about 10kg on the key. That's basically how pathetic my phone is. I need a W960i. Soon, I hope. *Looks at Dad*

Alright, seeya!

O Levels Results Release
Thursday, January 24, 2008 7:46 PM
School today was kinda slack. Only 1 proper lecture, 1 tutorial was replaced with chatting and the other one, the teacher said he was busy(shan't disclose who the teacher is because he did us a huge favour, haha) and the whole CG just sat at the stage playing games like polar bear and hunter, and this super fun 'Hi Mary' game where everyone is called Mary at the beginning of the game but if you make one mistake in the game, your name is changed to 1 dot, and if you make another mistake, it's changed to 2 dots, and so on. Xiang Yi was the ultimate 'winner' with the name 5 dots! Hahaha.

Release of O Levels results at 2pm just now. That's for all schools except for Anglican High. We finally got our results at 3pm because there was this talk about fund-raising for the 4-storey indoor stadium that's currently in construction beside the current indoor stadium. Of course, we will definitely support the fund-raising programme but seriously, the teachers couldn't have chose a better time to add to all our anxieties. The AHS teddy bears they were selling to raise funds were so cute!!!! Definitely going to get one! And the calendar! And the mouse pad! All these are going to burn a big hole in my pocket, but it's all for a good cause! To raise funds for the new indoor stadium! Bet it'll be super huge and cool after it's completed, and then other schools' sports players will just envy AHS sports players! Hahaha.

Anyway, back to results.

English: A1
Chinese: A2
Higher Chinese: A2
Biology: A1
Chemistry: A2
A Maths: B3
E Maths: A2
Geography: A1
Combined Humanities(SS & E Lit): A2

L1R5=9 points! AND I PASSED MY AMATHS!!!!! WOOHOO!!! A B3, to be exact. I don't know how I managed to get a B3, but it doesn't really matter. What's important is that, Mr Ang can no longer label me as having 'no Additional Maths background' again!!! Try being labelled that because you fail prelims A Maths and then, being called the worst in A Maths in front of the class. Double ouch! Even my sister was like, "How the hell did you manage to get from an E8 in prelims to a B3 in O Levels?" That's a difference of 6 grades. Haha. Totally surprised everyone, even myself.

The 2 best news of all, 100% OF SPORTS PLAYERS QUALIFIED FOR JC and STEPH GOT 8A1s!!! So proud of 4F!!! Way to go, 4F! I still remembered after prelims last year, when the school was showing the whole sec 4 cohort's performance on the powerpoint slide and when we came to the slide where it says that only 80+% of sports players qualified for JC, we could hear people from classes beside us saying, "Huh, only 80+% only can go JC ah?" Today, people(including ourselves) were saying, "Wah, really meh? 100% of them qualify for JC." I guess there's some stereotype that sports students can't study and that many of us will not get to a JC. We proved them all wrong! Yes, everyone of us can go JC! I think this is the only year where all sports students qualify for JC? ^^

AHS Table Tennis' 迎新会
Wednesday, January 23, 2008 9:13 PM
AHS Table Tennis' 迎新会 today! Of course, went back to AHS and met up with the girls! Miss them so much! I haven't seen some of them for ages. It's been a long time since all of us sat down to gossip and crap about everything under the sun, tell jokes which aren't funny(* looks at Yingiet*), talk about how gay male tutors can be, and of course, take photos!!! I miss the times when we always go down after trainings together with seniors and juniors to the bubble tea shop at 85 or the mama-shop and just keep talking about everything until it's around 6.30pm, then we'll go 'Wah 6.30pm already, need to go already!' We didn't care if the instant noodles contained enough MSG to make us bald or if potato chips makes the training earlier go to waste. Probably that's why I look spherical now. Chemistry lecturer said that circle is 2-D and sphere is 3-D. Haha.

But I don't mind going back to those times and grow into a bigger sphere because I always felt like I was the luckiest and the happiest person in the world to be in AHS and met this group of wonderful friends, the Table Tennis team, Sportsclass(1H'04, 2H'05, 3F'06, 4F'07), a table-partner who never fails to make the most boring subject(Maths) lively and of course, the best teacher ever, Miss Tay! Honestly, I had never imagine that my secondary school life was going to be this wonderful(this really is an understatement). After I received my PSLE results, I actually had Chung Cheng High in mind because I wanted to be with my primary school friends(what a silly idea then). But my mum said, "Chung Cheng is so far and from the bus-stop, you still have to walk in. Why not consider Anglican High?" Seriously, I had no idea where Anglican High was. I had not heard much about it nor seen the school or students, the only thing I knew was that Zhiying kept saying that it's very close to her house. Haha. So my dad drove me up to Anglican High School the very next day. My first impressions? On hilltop...everyday must climb up or climb down slope...bus-stop is just as far from the school as it is from CCHMS (and why did my mum even suggest AHS?)...school buildings weren't impressive because the school was still undergoing the PRIME project then...just new buildings and facilities to look forward to. With that, we just drove off after that. I can't remember why but I did put AHS as first choice in the end. Even then, I had no idea that Anglican High is a Christian mission school because I was super toot then, didn't know the meaning of Anglican. I thought Anglican sounded nice for a school name because it reminded me of angels. Hahaha. Super no link, goes to show how toot I was. I did know though, that it's a SAP school since I was determined to go to one.

Oops, digressed too much. That's what happen when you get carried away with all your wonderful memories of your secondary school life. Haha. Anyway, at 迎新会 today, the graduated sec 4 seniors(which is us) insisted on serving the juniors their food! So fun! But it's probably the last time we are ever going to serve or do anything for the juniors. ㅠㅠ

After 迎新会, the graduated sec 4 seniors and Yingen(graduated-1-year-ago sec 4 senior) went to 85 for some food but we ate alittle only because we ate too much during 迎新会. Haha. Continued with our gossipings, crappings and what-nots until around 7.30pm. And bumped into Aunt and her family there.

After we were done with our dinner, Andrea suggested that we play 中级密码, so the girls started pouring my strawberry milk tea, sugar cane juice, chilli sauce and lemon into the leftover 'ou jian'. Hweeli said 58, and then, that was it. 58 to 60. Then, MY TURN! No, there wasn't even a 'my turn'. I didn't want to eat that disgusting thing initially. Then Andrea said, 'Not sporty one.' Hey, I'm very sensitive to people saying I'm not sporty. Hahaha. So I was like, 'Ok fine, I'll eat it.' I 'gei kiang' and acted like superman's wife or something, and waited for Andrea to put it in my mouth. At first, I told the girls that it tasted okay, only alittle spicy. Then when it went down my throat, it tasted like vomit! You know, sometimes you feel like throwing up, the vomit rises from your stomach, then up your throat, then oozes into your mouth, then you manage to control yourself from puking out the vomit and then you slowly swallow down the vomit? The aftertaste that lingers in your mouth? That was exactly how that disgusting thing tasted like. Okay okay, I know some of you are starting to feel like puking infront of your computer. HAHAHA. I'm a genius at describing disgusting things right? Haha.

Tomorrow's the day O Levels Results are going to be released. 2pm. I'm super nervous. I'm supposed to complete the GP project essay tonight, but I didn't even do it because I don't know and can't think of what to write. I want to write the essay well and this just isn't the time to write it. I can't think straight. I'll just end up handing in a piece of paper full of crap if I write it now. Haha.

I just hope I can stay in TJC. Good luck to everyone who's getting their results tomorrow! Hope you guys can get your desired scores, and go to your desired schools and courses!!! ^^

101th post
Tuesday, January 22, 2008 10:36 PM
I just realised that this is my 101th post! Funny why I didn't realise my previous post was the 100th.

I cleared my Math tutorial and Biology project while waiting from 2.10pm to 5.30pm for training to start. So that's why I can be blogging now. Actually, it's a good thing that training starts in the late afternoon so that I won't go home right after school and sleep like a pig, use the internet, watch TV or basically anything except for studying. At school, there's nowhere for you to sleep, unless you don't mind putting your head on the cold hard metal cafeteria table. So, instead of sitting there rotting away while waiting for time to pass, it's better to do some tutorials or read some lecture notes. I think sitting there and staring into space is more boring than doing Math tutorials. Yes, Math! It's not very often that you'll hear me saying that Math is not boring. I'm not going to say it's interesting because it never was, and will never be for me. Haha.

I'm definitely signing up to be an OGL!!! It will be so fun being an OGL! But whether I'll get through the interviews, is another thing. Because there are so many people signing up for it! On the registration form, it says 'Dear CG reps, please encourage your classmates to sign up.' And Jasper(my class's CG rep) was like, 'Can I discourage you all from joining? Because I wanna be an OGL too.' Haha. He does have a point because almost half the class are signing up. I think same goes for other CGs too. And I heard that each clan is supposed to have only 25 OGLs. If there are at least 10 from each class who are interested in being OGLs, that would add up to about 70 OGLs in each clan! More OGLs than OGMs.

SCIP(Student Council Internship Programme) sounds super fun, from what I've heard from people who are already in it. I would really love to join it, but I can't. So I can only settle for OGL.

Okay, I'm being totally random in this 101th post of mine because I'm so happy that I finally completed the Biology handout draft for the project which is due at 2359h tonight. It has been weighing on my mind since the weekend and then, had been killing me since. But it won't be long before I start worrying about O Levels results and at the same time, how to write that individual essay of the GP project tomorrow night.

Alright, it's late now. I need to get some sleep and reach school earlier tomorrow because there's a discussion on this PW project(not the actual PW, but a trial one to let us be familiar of what to do during conflicts that arise in PW). Tons of projects which I'm dying to clear them as fast as possible. PW project is a skit. Hopes that they don't put me as one of the characters. I totally can't act. I'll just start bursting out in laughters and a long chain of NGs follows.

Like I said, this post is really random. Goodnight! ^^

Busy week, and busy weeks ahead
Friday, January 18, 2008 9:06 PM
Haven't been updating often because of school. The official timetable had started at beginning of this week and I'm already starting to feel that stress that others are always talking about. Although my typical school day is short, compared to others', I'm still drained out at the end of the day by the numerous lectures and tutorials. Not forgetting that there's still loads of tutorials to be done as homework. Oh yes, there's also training days which ends quite late. By the time I have dinner and reach home, it's about 9.30pm. And I am always so tired that I just fall asleep right away after showering, totally forgetting about the homeworks that are in my bag, waiting to be done. Not that I have the energy or concentration to do them anyway. Haha.

Now, the TV, newspapers and Internet doesn't exist in my world anymore. I'm like totally cut off from the outside world. Haha. Okay, I did use the Internet, but only for research for projects. Just one week into the official timetable, I already have 2 projects(GP and Biology) and an Econs coursework to do. I haven't really started on any yet and they are all due next week!!! Argh. And what's worse for my group is that I'm the group leader for the Biology project. I feel like I'm the worst leader in the world. I can't even get simple things done quickly. Seriously, I think my group members are just real unlucky to be in my group. I hope they don't come to this blog, and see that their leader feels so inferior of herself. They say(actually, I don't know who) the leaders must be confident of themselves. But where in the world am I going to find this confidence? Maybe I should try searching the trashbin or something. Haha.

There was Mass PE - swimming at Bedok Swimming Complex in the morning. Miraculously, I wasn't bedridden from yesterday's PT. Haha. I know it was nothing compared to the other sports' PT, but still, for people like me who have zero stamina, it's everything. Haha. Swimming was fun but we only got to swim one lap(ok, I think that's half a lap since it's swimming to the other side and not back). They were right, swimmers in the intermediate section are the slackest. Haha.

There was the house dialogue in the afternoon just now. I'm definitely going to run Road Run! I want to at least prove to myself that I can finish 3.6km at one go. 3.6km is kinda alot for me. Haha. Even though it's not compulsory, I'll just tell myself that it's compulsory so that I will have to train and get to lose some weight!

Alright, I got to go now. Hopefully, I get the Biology project information consolidated by tomorrow. Goodnight! ^^

Wonderful timetable!
Saturday, January 12, 2008 11:14 PM
I was supposed to finish up Maths tutorial on Arithmetic Progression by today, but I've only finished half of it so far. Took me so long to finish a question. Does anyone find it difficult? I do. Kept staring at the questions and scratching my head. Scratch until all of my hair dropped out. Haha. Seriously, I'm already finding the first topic difficult. I really have no idea how or what I'm going to do as we advanced further. No, even though I'm labelled by the Maths lecturer as 'having no A Maths background'(totally hurts, I tell you, haha. Try having being called that just because you failed your Prelims A Maths), I can't carry on being so pessimistic about my Maths. Haha. Tutor, tutor, where are you? Please come quickly to my rescue...

I got my timetable already! Pretty satisfied with it. Nope, actually, I'm more than satisfied. Totally love it.

Now you see the reason why I love my timetable. School ends before 2.10pm on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday(12.30pm, in fact!), 3.20pm on Wednesday and 4.40pm on Monday which is the latest. School ends earlier than what we had in secondary school on most days. Moreover, there's so many breaks and lunchbreaks in between. I would love to have Tuesdays and Thurdays ending later instead of Mondays because Tues and Thurs are training days, so I won't have to spend Tues' and Thurs' afternoons doing nothing while waiting for trainings to start. But with such a wonderful timetable, what more can I complain about?

Tired, tired. Goodnight!

2 new songs added to the playlist! Both are currently my favourite songs. And no, you are not seeing things. That, really is an English song on my blog! Haha. 'Everytime We Touch', I heard it on some blog and loved it so much. It's probably the first English song that I like. Okay, I'm so anti-English pop that I don't know when this song was first released, probably eons ago but I just discovered it 2 days ago. Neither do I know who or what the hell Cascada is. -.-

And 你给的 by 石欣卉, it's kinda old since it was released last year. But I guess it doesn't really matter because good songs still sound good even when they're old. And, 石欣卉's voice is really powerful. Totally love her voice but not the racy MV she filmed at XiMenTing which created such a huge controversy. Anyway, she's one of the very few Chinese female singers who can actually hold a tune. And what's unbelievable is that, she's Singaporean! Yeah, finally someone besides Lin Jun Jie or Sun Yanzi who can do Singaporeans proud(I'm not counting that MV though). Haha.

How was my day today? Had 2 lectures, the last one ended at 10.50am. Then, I left the college for my orthodontist appointment. Actually the appointment is 11am at NDC which is at Outram. Haha. But we're talking about the Queen of Unpunctuality here, so yeah, that's pretty normal. Yes, being late was intentional, but it's all for a good purpose. You see, I didn't want to miss any lectures, and definitely not one on Chemistry. I know how difficult it is to catch up if I miss any lectures. And I sure was glad I went for the Chemistry lecture instead of cutting it because I still don't get like half of what the lecturer was saying about despite having attend the lecture. Haha. So imagine how deep the shit I would be in now if I totally skipped it. Dad came to pick me up at 11am and sped all the way to NDC. I reached there at 11.15am. So that should give you a vague idea the speed at which my Dad was driving at.

And guess who I saw at NDC? Robyn!!! I was so surprised to see her there! Haven't seen her for 3 years! 3 WHOLE YEARS!!! She still looks like Robyn. And she said I still look like Connie. Hahaha. Chatted with her for quite a while. Talked about how everyone is now, JC life and stuffs like that. It turned out that she put on braces at about the same time as I did but we never once bump into each other during our appointments.

After my appointment, went with Dad to eat at the hawker centre near NDC. I had pig stomach mee sua. The current food I'm crazy over. Haha. Super nice, I tell you. The soup is total shiokness! And then, Dad ordered a glutinous rice with pig intestines. I've never eaten it before. Dad said we don't often see it being sold in Singapore anymore, but it was very popular during the olden days. Then, I ordered sesame paste for dessert. Seriously, that hawker centre sells all the delicious food.

After lunch, went to pick up my Mum who was done with her facial session. Then, shopping all the way till the evening.

There's math tutorial to do and lecture notes(Chemistry, Biology, Maths, Econs) to read up tomorrow. So I guess I'll only have time to do what I want on Sunday.

Alright, it's getting late. I'm feeling tired. Goodnight! ^^

Slack, for now
Wednesday, January 09, 2008 9:27 PM
JC life has officially started, with the lectures(mostly introductory) and talks. But we're still having it easy this week because we are having a special timetable with only one or at most, two, lectures a day. So it's pretty slack now. On some days, while waiting for the next lecture, we can just sit in the cafeteria for 3 hours and rot away. The girls and I usually play lame games which were initially taught to us by the SCs. That's basically how slack it is, for now.

I'm kind of having trouble with Math lecture because the lecturer is simply going too fast. And, it's not even the first topic. It's Partial Fractions which is kind of a bridging topic from what we've learnt in secondary school. I need to find a good math tutor soon.

Today's afternoon was PDP Exhibition. At the basketball court, we were more like 'bay-watching' and dino-hunting(according to Kristy). Haha. I'm not included.

We went to support Kristy at the tennis trials. She played real great! Must be due to that bird shit that dropped on her while we were in the cafeteria. Haha. She's definitely going to make it.

We went to train a little of Table Tennis. Then Hweeli, Shanmin, Jollene, Weiyang, Bing Hao, Weehoe and I went for dinner at the opposite market. The reason being, Weehoe came back to see us. Nah, we were very sure that he didn't come back just to see us. Haha. I bet he was there to look for someone else(guess who? no prize for guessing it right) and just came to look us up too. Haha.

Tomorrow's last lecture ends at 10am. So that means that we have to find something to do or rot from 10am to 12.30pm. Same goes for Friday too.

Anyway, I won't be blogging often from now on because I'm kind of busy even though we are still using the special timetable now. I can't imagine how will I cope when I receive the official timetable next week. Moreover, I should be devoting any free time I have to reading the Time magazine or reading up lecture notes so as to be prepared for lectures.

I'm super tired now. Kept dozing off during the bus ride just now. Couldn't help it, I just felt really tired.

Alright, I'm going off to sleep now. Goodnight! ^^

Zenith Temasek JC Orientation 2008
Tuesday, January 08, 2008 9:41 PM
Orientation at TJC was BAIK, HOT, SEXY & POWER!!! Baik means good in Malay, by the way. I think I was the only one who didn't know that. The first time I heard the Slithas House Cheer, I thought it was 'Partay, Partay, Partay, Partay'. And I was thinking, 'why are they telling us to party?' Tracy laughed at me when I told her that. Haha. Yalah Yalah, Malay language noob here.

Anyway, there were 4 Clans. The Slithas(snakes), Panthera(lions), Zephron(wolves) and Erypions(scorpions). The theme was Zenith, meaning the highest peak.

I was in Slithas House, OG 16!!! I was kinda shocked by how huge the OG was. 52 people? Because back at AHS, it was only like less than 10 per OG. Haha. Anyway, I actually estimated that it was 25 on the 1st day, but on the 2nd day, I found out that it was 52. Goes to prove how much my estimation sucks. No, that's not even an estimation la. That's inverting 52 to get an 'estimation' of 25.

Because the OG is so huge a group, I can't remember all the names, except a few. Haha.

Our OG had a bunch of TA1s and PRC scholars, and very few JC1s. There was pretty much a language barrier between the PRC scholars and us even though we are all chinese. Alright, maybe it's me only, because I could not quite understand what they were saying. Okay, that's an understatement because I could hardly catch what they were blabbering about. Hahaha.

But I did managed to learn how to communicate with them and tried my best to explain some of the games rules to them in my lousy incoherent chinese(and a little mixture of english), together with ALOT of gesturings, 'erms' and 'thens' at the start of every sentence because I couldn't find the correct chinese word to say. Hahaha. But that's only because I'm talking to China scholars. I was super nervous when talking to them because my Chinese sounds like anything but Chinese next to theirs. Haha. But I'm Chinese okay? I speak more Chinese than English. Chinese is like my 1st language when it comes to speaking and my 2nd language when it comes to writing. My family is like your typical Singaporean Chinese Hokkien family. At my house, we speak mostly chinese rojaked with some english(or singlish in this case) rojaked with some hokkien. There's no such thing as perfect English or perfect Chinese at my house, only perfect Hokkien. Hahaha.

I know some of my OGMs were surprised to hear me speaking in Chinese and even more so when they heard I took HCL. Quite a number of them were like, "Are you Eurasian? Because you look like one", "Are you Chinese? You look super white" or "Are you Singaporean?". My reply? I always laugh and then say 'I'm Singaporean Chinese. Yep, both my parents are Chinese." One girl even asked if my grandparents are Chinese. Haha.

I lost about 4kg during orientation. I'm getting closer to achieve New Year Resolution no. 2. Hahaha. It's probably due to the irregular meals and I only drank drinks for some meals. So yeah, a water diet does really help one to lose weight.

1st Day of Orientation
The whole morning was spent in the auditorium for all the talks on the curriculum by TJC personnel. My back hurt like hell after sitting for about 3 hours. This is especially so when your backbone is slanting alittle to the left. But I guess it's the same in all colleges. It's better to sit through all the talks and get to know the college's system than to get into trouble with it later.

Soon, it was lunch at the opposite hawker centre, we bought takeaways and then ate at the super uber huge stage beside it. Then it was OG games back at school. Or was it mass dance first? I can't really remember. Anyway, for the games, it was a few ice-breaking-and-bonding games. Mass dance was alright. S Club 7 dance. I was still dancing my pretty-messed-up-dance-steps and looking like a retarded robot dancing(scratch that, it's not dancing, I don't even know what's that). And I still don't know how to do the 'Running Man' steps. Never mind the fact that the SCs taught us the mass dance a month ago. -_-

Honestly, I was kinda disappointed with 1st day of orientation because it wasn't as good as I thought it would be. Again, it's the same for all orientations where the first day is always about important talks and little games. But that's because I had no idea about what was about to come up during the next few days of orientation...^^

2nd Day of Orientation
TJC Choir is totally, WOW! Totally changed my mind about choir. They performed 珊瑚海 and Can't Take My Eyes Of You at the auditorium. 珊瑚海 was really superb, sorry Jay Chou fans but I've to admit that it's so much better than the original by Jay Chou. Haha. And there was even beatboxing in Can't Take My Eyes Of You! Super cool!

Amazing Race was alright. The whole OG was divided into Group A and Group B. It kinda boring(=X) at first because we were walking around Marine Parade area trying to find the correct block for the game stations. Plus a cough, a runny yet blocked nose and the continuous cold wind wasn't helping one bit. Felt like I was going to choke on the phlegm to death or freeze to death anytime. Didn't really feel like joining in the games at first. You know, when you get a blocked nose, you get blocked ears too. It's the kind of 'buy one get two free' which you won't like. So I was kinda deaf too. I hate being sick! And I had to get sick at about the time orientation started. It's just so great.

My feet hurt like hell because of the 天堂路 game at one of the ECP stations of the Amazing Race. Those who watch Taiwanese variety shows should know what 天堂路 is. For those who don't know, it's the many little(did I mention sharp too?) stones that sticks out from the ground and people are supposed to walk on it. They say it's supposedly good for health. Yeah, I say it's good if you're thinking of destroying your body's nervous system. I don't know why they call it 天堂路 instead of 地狱路. Maybe it's because when you step on it, you just feel like dying and going to heaven quickly. Haha.

So the game goes like this, our group have 6 min 15 secs to complete the game. Everyone have to 'walk', one at a time, one round on the 天堂路. Notice walk is in inverted commas because we didn't really have to walk. Our group has 25 people, so that's 15 secs for each person. In case you didn't know, the world's fastest man clocked 9.77secs for a 100m sprint. Although the 天堂路 distance is much shorter, but don't forget about the cute little innocent black stones sticking out of ground that may just kill you. Put the world's fastest man on it, and I bet he can't even last a second. So yeah, we didn't have to walk but we had to fly. I don't know how we did it but everyone ran on the 天堂路. Yes, ran, and screamed in pain. Even though we clocked 8 minutes in the end, it's still such an accomplishment. I mean, who else in the world, except us, runs on 天堂路?

Then...yes the torture isn't over yet, we wanted to earn bonus points. So, the whole group had to step on it again and, hand in hand, walk one more round. And we wanted even more bonus points, so Oliver and Amal had to walk on it once more, hand in hand, under the umbrella and singing Rihanna's Umbrella. I tell you, we TJCians have the craziest ideas and we do the craziest things.

The later parts of Amazing Race was fun! After Amazing Race, we were back at the college for Mass Dance!!! Forgot what's the dance called. It doesn't matter anyway since I can't remember dance steps, just tried my best to follow the SCs' and OGLs' dance steps. Haha.

Then it was OG performance brainstorming. We decided on a skit accompanied with a small STOMP performance.

3rd Day of Orientation
The third day started off with a talk on College Ethos(aka school rules). Then it was Mass Games!!! Another super fun part of orientation! Stretching to pick up styrofoam cups to fill up huge mineral water bottle. Playing 'dog-and-the-bone' with soap bars, soap water, tofu and sponges. Trying to find sweets in a tray full of flour with our mouth and ended up with flour all over our faces.

Then it was the skit and STOMP rehearsals. It was funny watching the OGMs act out the skit. The skit was just crazy and random. Haha.

Mass Dance in the afternoon. Danced couple dance, Dhoom, with Jiaxin. We purposely went all the way back of the line because we knew there were more girls than boys and in the end, we would just dance with each other. Haha. It was really fun dancing with her. Neither of us knew how to do running man. So we were basically making fools of ourselves.

Then audition for the OG performance. Although we didn't get selected in the end, at least we had fun preparing for the performance.

In the evening, we left the college to go to Suntec City's Fountain of Wealth for Mass Dance. We were running super late. Supposed to reach Suntec City at 6.30pm, but at 6.30pm, we were still at Bedok Interchange. Haha. The OGMs went Bedok KFC to buy takeaways for dinner. And then we ran all the way to MRT and then ran across Citylink to Suntec. Everyone was eating, running and trying to catch their breath. Haha. I didn't eat. Smart. Nah, I didn't want to risk myself getting indigestion or worse, appendicitis. Anyway, I can't multi-task, eat and run, at the same time. I'll probably be trailing far far far behind the OG if I were to eat.

Mass Dance at Fountain of Wealth was TOTAL HIGHNESS!!! It didn't matter if you knew how to dance or not. Just dance freestyle if you don't know. Nicole's pole-dancing was so hot!!! Some of the guys just grabbed hold of the lamp post and started dancing. Some others jumped onto the bench and started dancing freestyle. Was really really really HIGH(pardon me for my limited vocabulary) that night, with all the dancing and cheering!!!

After Mass Dance ended, I was feeling really thirsty and went with the girls to Macs. I didn't want queue so I spotted Wei Yang at the front of the queue and asked him to help me buy a SUPER LARGE coke. But he was already paying already so he asked this guy behind him to help me buy. And the guy was super nice to help me buy. I asked for his name. I think it's Wei Zheng or something. Can't remember.

While walking back to Citylink, I did my 'running man' for Shanmin to see, and obviously she was laughing at me. Yeah, I do think my dancing is quite funny too. Both of us are Slithas so we cheered the Fever Cheer for the 2 Pantheras, Kristy and Tracy, to hear. So yeah, we were dancing, cheering and doing the front ooh back ooh action right on the overhead bridge. People must have thought we just escaped from IMH. Embarrassing but that's what too much highness does to you. Haha.

4th Day of Orientation
We were only required to reach the college at 3pm. But we wanted an OG outing in the morning, so off we went to ECP!!!

We played the special version of Captain's Ball that has 'seamen' and 'landmen'. Guess you already know from the names that the players are divided into two categories, on land and in the water. Super fun game! We played Monkey too, and had this competition to see which team, 16A or 16B, could bury a person in sand first.

Time really flies when you're having fun. Soon, it was time for lunch at the East Coast Lagoon hawker centre and then back to the college to get prepared the Zenith Night.

Zenith Night(aka O' Night) was AWESOME!!! No, AWESOME is an understatement. But due to my limited vocabulary, I'll just stick to that first. The Clans Performances were great! Plus the Dare-dication!!! Erypion's House Captain & Zephron's House Captain was dared to kiss each other's lips on stage. Yeah, an ah beng and a muscleman kissing each other, totally classic! There many other funny dares too, like daring an OG to take off their socks and hanging them on their ears, doing their house cheers at the same time. Victor played wonderful piano! Nicole was so hot dancing, but then again, she is always hot. And she won the Beau-Talent Contest!!! She did OG 16 super duper proud!!! Screamed and cheered my voice hoarse together with the TA1 girls, Jiaxin, Jamie, Josephine(all the Js) and Kaiwen. Then we did the choo-choo train thing and ran around the hall screaming and shouting. We were running so fast that we had trouble catching up with one another.

Then OG 16 went onto the stage to dance Mass Dance. Didn't care if we didn't know how to dance or made fools of ourselves in front of the whole school. Just went up there to dance whatever we could and had lots of fun.

After Zenith Night ended at around 10.30pm, part of OG 16 went opposite for dinner/supper. I drank 2 teh-pengs and a chin-chow. 陈水桶. Haha.

I really had loads and loads and loads of fun at orientation! Thank you, OG16, OGLs, SCs, OGMs and House Captain!!! I love TJC!!!

OGLs, baik baik baik baik!!!
OG 16, baik baik baik baik!!!
Slithas, baik baik baik baik!!!
Everyone, baik baik baik baik!!!

Tuesday, January 01, 2008 9:57 PM
First entry of 2008! Of course, I'm going to write down my new year resolutions! It's going to be only 5 resolutions because it's no use having many since I'm probably going to forget that I made resolutions in the first place barely after the first week.

2008 New Year Resolutions:

1. Stay focus on my studies and table-tennis.
2. Slim down to 48kg.
3. Learn how to play a guitar.
4. Continue with piano lessons.
5. Enrol in a Korean Language course in mid-March.

Okay, I've got to go now. School's starting tomorrow. And I better get my beauty sleep! Goodnight, everyone! Have fun at orientation!!! ^^
